E-Collar Policies & Expectations
E-Collar program includes:
- (6) full days of private lessons in my home/neighborhood, across 6 weeks
- detailed videos of training sessions uploaded to a shared Google drive
- (1) Educator ET-300 Mini and (1) 30-foot long line
- (2) free in-home lessons at the end of weeks 3 and 6
- unlimited text/email support between sessions
- access to e-collar group classes upon completion
What to expect:
- I teach the e-collar in a gentle and methodical manner. I use the lowest level possible, one that is barely perceptible. We are looking for a subtle response, not a reaction.
- I do not use the e-collar to teach new skills. I use it as an additional form of pressure/release, which we layer on top of basic leash pressure.
- The e-collar can be used to give corrections. This is not how I begin the conditioning process. I will educate you on how to do this towards the end of our training program.
- Videos of our sessions will be uploaded to a shared Google drive at the end of each training day. Please watch these videos before the next session, and ask any questions.
- Homework assignments will be given at the end of each training day. Please practice with your dog daily, and send videos of yourself completing the assignments when applicable.
- At the end of week 3 and week 6 we will meet for a 90-minute in-home lesson so you can learn and practice everything your dog has been practicing with me.
What should I send with my dog?
- Flat collar with ID tags, and slip lead or prong and safety strap
- If your dog has allergies, please provide treats or kibble to be used during training.
